A professional headshot is a head-and-shoulders image that shows you at your best, with an amazing expression, great lighting, and a modern, clean look.

Yes! In today's world where so much business is done online, a professional headshot is your digital calling card, and more important than a traditional business card. It can make the difference between being seen or overlooked.

All photographers work a bit differently. My process is collaborative, entheusiastic, and fun! During your headshot session show you the images in real time to make sure you love the images we create together. My studio is spacious and comfortable, making the whole process even easier!

Different photographers will define headshots and portraits in slightly different ways, but I consider a head-and-shoulders photo a headshot, and anything from a half-length to full-length photo a portrait.

You may have noticed that my headshots are cropped horizontally, and that I trim a bit from the top of the head. This is a stylistic choice and I think it is the most modern and engaging look. But, every photo I take includes the head tops, so if you prefer a traditional crop, we can do that too!

Yes, I do recommend a makeup artist for my female clients. I work with an excellent makeup artist who understands how to apply makeup specifically for headshots. If you choose to do your own makeup, the key is to keep everything simple, not use a lot of foundation, and not use a lot of dark color around the eyes.

Yes! For ladies, I recommend having your hair done the day of the shoot for best results. For men, it's best to get a haircut a day or two before your session to ensure that your hair settles and doesn't have spikey edges as is sometimes the case with a fresh cut. If you have no hair at all, that's no problem either! I have special techniques I use for my folically challenged clients.
